We would like to invite you to a policy breakfast for the launch of ‘Everyday Innovation: How to enhance innovative working in employees and organisations, a new research report by City University in partnership with NESTA, Work Psychology Group and The Chartered Management Institute.

Organisations across the private, public and third sectors are increasingly recognising that innovation is crucial to their productivity and effectiveness. But many organisations struggle to make innovation a practical day-to-day reality, and to support and reward their employees to be effective at innovative working. This has been made even more difficult with the recession, leaving many organisations with a greater demand but shrinking resources for innovation.

This new research conducted by City University, commissioned by NESTA in partnership with The Chartered Management Institute:

·         identifies the most important skills,  characteristics and behaviours that promotes employee innovation

·         provides practical examples of how leading organisations establish a culture of innovation, and

·         reveals the impact of the recession on innovation in businesses and public and third sector organisations.

On Monday 14th December, the researchers – Professor Fiona Patterson from City University and Dr Máire Kerrin from the Work Psychology Group – will be joined by Ruth Spellman, Chief Executive of The Chartered Management Institute and practitioners featured in the report to discuss how organisations can make innovation an everyday activity with their employees.

Please join us for what we expect to be a challenging and thought-provoking discussion.  Breakfast will be provided.

Breakfast and registration will be available from 8 am, for an 8.30 am start.
